What is Autogenous Mill?
The autogenous mill, also called ultrafine laminar autogenous mill/semi-autogenous mill, is a new type of autogenous mill, which is a kind of grinding equipment with the functions of both medium and fine crushing and coarse grinding. The obvious feature is that the raw ore from the quarry or slightly coarse crushed ore, etc. can be directly fed into the autogenous mill, using the ore itself as the medium to realize crushing through mutual impact grinding, (adding a small amount of steel balls in the autogenous mill can improve the processing capacity, called semi-autogenous mill). One-time grinding to -0.074mm content of 20%-40% of the total amount of products, crushing ratio of up to 4000-5000, more than a dozen times higher than the ball mill, rod mill.

What Is Autogenous Mill Used For?
High-efficiency autogenous mills can realize the function of secondary and tertiary crushing and screening, or some or all of the grinding function of ball mills.

Working Principle of Autogenous Mill
High-efficiency autogenous mill working principle and ball mill is basically the same, the difference is that its cylinder is larger, without steel balls or any other grinding media, but the use of the cylinder body is crushed material itself as a grinding medium, in the cylinder body of the continuous impact and mutual abrasion in order to achieve the purpose of grinding.
Sometimes, in order to improve the processing capacity of the mill, a small amount of steel balls can be added, usually accounting for 2-3% of the effective volume of the autogenous mill (also known as semi-autogenous mill).


Advantageous features of Autogenous Mill
- Wet autogenous mill is characterized by low energy consumption, no dust pollution, less auxiliary equipment, easy to realize the production automation, and more stable product size.
- It can handle coarse crushed ores without the need for medium and fine crushing, and has a large crushing ratio of 3,000-4,000 (feed material 300-400 mm, discharge product 0.1 mm or less).
- High efficiency autogenous mill is a new type of grinding equipment with both crushing and grinding functions.
- The discharge of ultrafine laminar autogenous mill/semi-autogenous mill adopts the end face discharge device which is designed in the outer circumference of the end face of the cylinder. It avoids over-grinding and increases the output of the autogenous mill. The ultra-fine laminar autogenous mill discharges the ore from the lower part, and the filling rate is as high as 45%, which will not cause any obstruction of the discharge.
